Carissa Young walked through Diagon Alley, pushing her way through the crowds that bombarded the streets, causing people jams. She sighed aggravated. Carissa clutched the parcel she had in her hand rather tightly, it was a way for her not to loose her temper and it worked. Why do people just stop walking in the midddle of the road. SHe thought rather disgusted.
Turning left into a building marked Ollivanders Wands, she noticed Gypsy leaving the building, a new wand wrapped perfectly in it's new casing, in her hands. Hey Gypsy. Got yourself a new wand I see." After a few moments of talking Carissa pushed the door open and went inside. Immediate warmth flowed through her body like wildfire, eezing the numbness from her half frozen toes and fingers.
Carissa waited patiently for Mr. Ollivander to talk to her but he was tending to an excited looking first year. She could remember the time when she had gotten her first wand. Elder wood, dementors finger nail, 11 inches. Perfect for charm work. Carissa remembered being overly joyful at the prospect of getting a wand and using it but her mother had told her countless times that schooling and technigue was to be studied before any spells could be used.
"There are plenty of wizards who been killed and sent to Saint Mungo's because of improper wand use." Her mother's shrill voice intruded upon her memory to a time shortly afterward when Carissa had been swishing her wand like a baton. Almost setting the house on fire.
"Carissa - hello anyone at home?" Carissa was pulled out of her reverie by Mr. Ollivander who was waving a hand energetically in front of her. "Oh sorry Mr.Ollivander just thinking. Anway I've come for a new-"
"Wand. Yes, yes, yes. You ought to be more careful in duels Riss." Ollivander interupted walking brisakly toward the back of the room where he kept all of his wands. he had five boxes in his hands and set them down carefully upon the desk. Carissa blushed at the interuption. It wasn't the first time she had been in for a replacement wand...
"Here give this one a wave." He said handing her the first wand. Taking it she gave it a slight flick and the wands had caught on fire. Panic stricken he put the flames out and gave her the next wand. "Rose Wood, Unicorn Hair, 14 1/2 inches." The effect hadn't been much different. The next attempt he had her try Chestnut wood Hippogriff Feather core 12 in. Giving it a wave a shower of sparks fell upon her and a heavenly song filled the room.
"I think I've found my wand Mr. Ollivander." Carissa said paying Ollivander the amount do and left the shop with a thanks.
